The INSARAG Information Management Working Group (IMWG) is mandated to develop, deliver, and promote effective information management (IM) solutions across the INSARAG network. This mandate supports the enhancement of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) operations and coordination, in line with United Nations General Assembly Resolution 57/150 (2002) on “Strengthening the Effectiveness and Coordination of International Urban Search and Rescue Assistance.”
Purpose
The IMWG’s purpose is to:
- Collaborate with INSARAG members to design and refine IM solutions.
- Deliver tools and systems that strengthen operational coordination.
- Promote the effective use of IM solutions across the network.
These solutions are intended to support INSARAG members and partners in managing USAR operations, as outlined in the INSARAG Guidelines and associated guidance notes (e.g., the UC Handbook and forms).
